High Desert Dreams
The following paintings are drawn from the natural beauty of Central Oregon. The compositions are formed through sketches, from my memories and emotions, of what I’ve viewed in the forests, high desert, mountains and waterways of this area. The paintings are conceived in my studio. Juniper trees, and ravens have caught me, and are prevalent in this series. Ravens are intelligent, complex birds, who share the ancient trilogy of “man, wolf, and raven.” Juniper trees – some intricately twisted and shaped by the wind. Others seem “mammal-like” with trees growing within them. I can’t help thinking of the human form when I paint them.
